European Markets Open Cautiously as Sanofi Shares Slip

Sanofi stock

At around 08:05 GMT, European exchanges kicked off the day with mixed results. Paris slipped 0.14%, Frankfurt was flat with a marginal -0.05% change, and Milan showed no movement. London, however, stood out, climbing 0.60%.

The dip in the French market was largely driven by Sanofi. The pharmaceutical giant warned that a key regulatory decision in the United States for its experimental multiple‑sclerosis treatment would be postponed, prompting investors to sell the stock on the Paris exchange.

Despite the cautious start across most of the continent, the UK market’s modest gain helped balance overall sentiment, suggesting that traders remain watchful but not overly pessimistic ahead of upcoming corporate announcements.
